Install the Survey App on Your Computer or Phone

You can run the Survey App as its own app — separate from your normal web browser — on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android. Once installed, it opens from your dock, taskbar, or home screen like any other app. It works offline, and it updates automatically when you're back online.

You don't need an App Store account, and there's nothing to download manually. Installation is built into your browser.

Install on Windows or Mac (Chrome or Edge)

Open Chrome or Microsoft Edge and go to your Survey App URL (for example, survey.e2e-ipgn.com)
Look at the right-hand side of the address bar at the top of the window
Click the small install icon — it looks like a monitor with a downward arrow
Confirm by clicking Install in the dialog that appears

The app will open in its own window, and you'll find it alongside your other applications:

Windows: Start menu, taskbar, and the apps list
Mac: Launchpad, Spotlight search, and Applications → Chrome Apps (or Edge Apps)

If you don't see the install icon in the address bar, the app might already be installed — check your Start menu or Applications folder.

Install on iPhone or iPad

iPhones and iPads use Safari for installing web apps (Chrome on iOS doesn't support it).

Open Safari and go to your Survey App URL
Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing up)
Scroll down in the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen
Tap Add in the top-right corner

The Surveys icon will appear on your home screen alongside your other apps. Tap it to open the app — it'll run full-screen without Safari's address bar.

Install on Android

Open Chrome and go to your Survey App URL
Tap the three-dot menu at the top right
Tap Add to Home screen or Install app
Tap Install to confirm

The Surveys icon will appear on your home screen and in your apps list.

Working Offline

The installed app keeps a local copy of itself on your device. This means:

You can open the app and use it even when you're offline (no internet)
Surveys you've already opened on your device remain available offline
New data you collect offline is saved locally and uploaded automatically when you're back online
The app remembers your sign-in for up to 24 hours so you don't get logged out at sea or in remote locations

When you reconnect, the app checks for any updates and offers to install them with a single tap.

Keeping the App Up to Date

When a new version of the app is released, you'll see a "New version available" banner at the top of the screen. Tap Update to apply the new version — the app will reload once and you'll be on the latest.

You don't need to update immediately. The banner remains visible until you decide, so you can finish what you're doing first.

For longer offline trips, the app may show an "Update required" screen when you reconnect. This happens when a major update is needed to keep your data compatible with the server. Tap Update Now and you'll be back to work in a few seconds.

If the App Stops Working

If the installed Survey App shows a blank screen, refuses to load, or behaves strangely after an update, you can reset it with one URL:

Open any web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge — not the installed Survey app)
Type or paste this URL: https://survey.e2e-ipgn.com/?reset=1
Wait a few seconds — you'll see "Resetting app…" briefly, then the app will reload normally

Your survey data is safe. This only resets the cached app files. Anything you've already collected and synced to the server is unaffected. Any unsynced data on your device is also preserved.

If the reset URL doesn't work, you can fully reinstall:

Windows / Mac: Open Chrome, go to chrome://apps, right-click the Surveys icon, choose Remove from Chrome. Then visit the Survey App URL again and reinstall.
iPhone / iPad: Press and hold the Surveys icon on the home screen, tap Remove App, then re-add it from Safari.
Android: Press and hold the Surveys icon, tap Uninstall, then re-add it from Chrome.

If a fresh reinstall doesn't fix the problem, contact your system administrator with a screenshot of what you're seeing.
